The moment that you entered this world and took your first breath, greatness was your destiny. It didn't matter who your parents were, how much money they had or what country you were born in. It didn't matter if you were boy or girl. You were born destined for greatness.
Every single person has greatness as a birthright. You may be wondering what exactly is greatness. Is it material possessions, riches, college degrees, a job title, a significant other, youthful beauty, a great body or the being born to a powerful, well-connected family? Greatness is a state mind. It is an attitude about life that says that we are here to experience the fullness of life. We open to endless opportunities and possibilities, abundance, prosperity, peace of mind, good health, enriching relationships and getting to know our true selves. We are open and ready to make our mark or contribution in this world. We know that there is a purpose for us being born at this moment in history. We are here to be the best that we can be as people and not to limit ourselves in any way.
When we pursue our greatness, we will choose to live life based on trust, hope and faith instead of fear, doubt and insecurity. We are open to forgiveness instead of holding grudges. We are here to live in harmony rather than in conflict. We are here to get to know ourselves and live a life on our terms instead of limiting ourselves by living according to somebody else's terms. We are here to grow and evolve as human beings, so we are always open to learn from our life experiences. We know that Life is never against us, so we see our unpleasant experiences as here to teach us beneficial life lessons.
Too many of us allow our early obstacles and even our present circumstances to lead us off the path of greatness permanently. Nothing can ever keep us blocked away from our greatness unless we believe it. We can overcome what we believe are our obstacles and turn them into opportunities. We are never at a disadvantage unless we believe it. We may make some missteps along the way in life, but we are never far away from getting back onto the path of our greatness. It is up to us to stay connected to our greatness as we go about living. There are no missed opportunities or squandered lives. No matter where you are in your life or how old you are, the window for living a great life and experiencing all of your greatness is always open to you. Only you can close it.
We often cut ourselves off from greatness by believing false and limiting ideas from other people. These people tell us that we have made too many mistakes or have too many strikes against us to ever live a life of greatness. They tell us that we are too old or too young to experience our greatness. It is never really too soon or too late. Nothing stands in the way of your greatness.
Know that you are here to do great deeds--it is up to you to define your greatness. Your great deeds can be small and ordinary, yet important to yourself and others. Being the best school teacher you can be can be part of your great deeds. Being the best parent that you can be is another great deed. Fighting for justice and equality is yet another great deed. It is up to you to pay attention and see what you are being called to do. You will be called to do many great deeds over the course of your lifetime.
Remember that greatness is your destiny. Your life has a larger meaning and purpose. You were not put on this earth to struggle and suffer from all of your circumstances. Step into your greatness today. Act and think with your greatness in mind. Accept more from life instead of less. Seek out a bigger life for yourself instead of believing that we have to settle for less. Dream big and dare to go after your dreams. Think about how you can serve others and contribute to society. Take risks. Know that all is possible for you. Fight against the odds in your way, knowing that you will defeat them in the end.
Keep growing as a person. Seek to learn more about yourself by taking risks. Don't surrender your spirit and soul to self pity, hopelessness and failure. Know that greatness is within you--every thought, step and beat of your heart. Claim it and never surrender it!
Affirmations: Greatness is my birthright. I accept my greatness. It is mine for my lifetime. No one can take it away from me. I live a life of greatness.
